CM206 - Admissions Compliance for Postsecondary Schools in Washington
Whether you are new to admissions or very experienced, this course offers essential information for working as an admissions agents in a Washington licensed institution. Admissions agents work in a highly regulated environment. It is vital to know all the rules as set forth by your state plus other regulatory agencies that may oversee your educational institution. In four modules you'll become familiar with Washington rules, the importance of compliance training for admissions agents, plus techniques to learn about your institution and its enrollment processes.
This course is intended for Admissions/Sales Agents working for institutions entirely licensed by the Washington Private Vocational School Licensing and Consumer Protection, Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board. This course does not cover regulations pertaining to the Washington Student Achievement Council.

Module 1: Learn the Basics - Describe why Admissions Agent training is offered in your state.
- Explain expectations of prospective students.
- Recognize and use words and terms commonly used during the admissions process.
- Create and demonstrate the ability to use a paper or electronic Resource Notebook to manage documents.
- Outline the pros and cons of using paper or electronic Resource Notebooks.
- Identify ways to locate information you need to know about your institution.
- List resources at your institution to locate all policies and procedures that impact on your role in admissions.
- List strategies in place to market your institution programs.
Module 2: Understand Your State Guidelines - Explain the rules and regulations that affect Admissions Agents and recruiters as defined by your state licensing agency.
- Identify each section of the catalog and what is required to be included in an approved catalog.
- Locate each section of the enrollment agreement and demonstrate the ability to accurately complete all sections and explain to applicants.
- Explain the cancellation and refund policies for your institution.
- Demonstrate your ability to discuss rules and guidelines that relate to transferring course credit into your institution and related to the transfer of credits from your institution to another institution.
- Cite Do's and Don'ts and related disciplinary actions and penalties.
- Explain Student Complaint processes.
Module 3: Get to Know Your Institution - List the departments and directors at your institution.
- Cite the admissions requirements for programs at your institution.
- List the financial aid and tuition assistance programs at your institution and your role in providing this information.
- Summarize the details of each of the training programs and courses offered at your institution.
- Explain all the student services offered by your institution and how students benefit.
- Outline the employment and job search services available through your institution.
Module 4: Staying Up-to-date and Compliant - Identify admissions and other training recommended or required for admissions staff.
- List all accreditation and regulatory agencies that have oversight over your institution.
- Give examples of required and optional meetings and networking opportunities for admissions staff.
- Create a list of publications and online resources of value to admissions staff.
- Discuss examples of limitations imposed on Admissions Agents in terms of marketing and financial aid.
- List examples of what an Admissions Agent can and cannot do and resultant disciplinary actions.
- Recognize areas of non-compliance and consequences of behavior.
